You’re on your way to eliminating chargebacks!
We offer 3 types of alerts: Ethoca (Mastercard), CDRN (Visa) and RDR (Visa). You can sign up for all 3 alert types, however depending on your merchant risk level, this may be overkill.
Our recommendation for the highest risk merchants is to subscribe to all three products, wherein you will get the best coverage, and be able to accept the widest range of payments. For medium risk merchants, our recommendation would be to use RDR and Ethoca.
It’s worth noting, since Ethoca is deployed at the consumer bank level, and RDR at the acquiring bank level, for a merchant that is refunding all their Ethoca alerts, they will receive no duplicate RDR alerts, since the Ethoca feed front runs the RDR feed by about 7 days.
For Ethoca alerts on Visa cards that are rejected, they will turn into disputes or hit RDR. For this reason, for merchant being very selective about what transactions are refunded (namely resolve rates of <50%) it is not advised to run both Ethoca & RDR, however this is a very niche use case.
